Prof Isidore Diala is a lecturer in African Literature at Imo State University, Owerri. He was an Alexander Humboldt research fellow at Germany. He graduated from Abaia State University and University of Ibadan and has held several research fellowship at Nordic African Institute, Upsalla, Sweden and the Universities of Cambridge, London.

Prof Diala recently concluded a six months renewed Humboldt research fellowship to examine the impact of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) sponsored The Nigeria Prize for Literature award on current Nigerian writing.

Twice (2014 and 2018) Diala was winner of the Literary Criticism competition.
